EXPENSIVE marine engines and other equipment were taken from a lorry which was parked outside a business after a boat show.

Last Tuesday at around 2.30am three men smashed their way in to an office in Camp Road, Heyford Park, Bicester and took the lorry keys from a safe.

They had walked into the premises from the direction of Camp Road, broke a small window and moved two large, heavy cabinets to gain entry.

After retrieving the keys, the men walked to the vehicle which was parked outside after returning from the show.

The men entered the lorry and drove it away towards Camp Road turning left in the direction of Ardley and Middleton Stoney.

Part of the lorry - a red tractor unit - was located further up the road and its white trailer was found empty in the North West of the country.

Two vehicles, a silver Vauxhall Vectra and a white DAF HGV, are believed to have been travelling in convoy with each other, and may have been used to help steal the trailer.

A total of 16 high value marine engines in the vehicle were stolen; nine of which were Yanmar, one Mercruiser, one Mercury, one Mase, three Shire and one John Deere.

There were also a number of other items stolen including stands, a marquee, red wheelie bins containing brochures and flags.

Investigating officer PC Callum Cooper, of the Investigation Hub based at Bicester police station, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area at around the time of the burglary.

"We would also appreciate the public to contact us if they were driving in the area at the time and have dash-cam footage as this may provide vital information.”

Anyone with any information about the incident should call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101 quoting the reference 43180292532.
