Newcastle Emlyn 6 Llangeinor 2 Ending the season on a high the Reds handed out a six of the best caning to opponents who have clinched promotion in the MacWhirter Welsh League Division Three.

The visitors very nearly fell behind in the first minute when John Buck and Gary Evans at the back got into a tangle but home striker Mathew Jones failed to make contact with the ball.

Then Emlyn goalkeeper Peter Blain made a great double save from ex-Swansea City midfielder Damien Lacy and David Lewis.

Emlyn went ahead after 24 minutes when Scot Leask put Price through and the boss rounded goalkeeper Jody Harries before slotting home.

Ten minutes later the visitors doubled their advantage when Price went down the left and squared the ball to Leas whose shot went in via the crossbar.

Price got goal number three early in the second period.

After Emlyn midfielder Jonathan Clarke fired over when well placed the visitors reduced the deficit when David Lewis tapped home.

Clarke made it 4-1 when winning a one-two with goalkeeper Harries, but Llan again came back with a David Williams header at the far post.

Another piece of smart finishing made it 6-2 when Gary Davies set up Leask and the attacking livewire fired into the roof of the net.
