Dates for the appeal hearing into Stansted Airport's application to increase the use of its existing runway have been announced.
Last November, Uttlesford Council refused airport operator BAA's planning application to lift the annual passenger limit of 25 million to about 35 million.
Councillors said the decision was based on factors such as noise and air pollution and climate change.
The public inquiry will be held at Endeavour House at the airport, as well as smaller venues in places close to the airport.
It will begin on May 30 and close on October 5, with breaks scheduled between June 26 and July 4, July 31 and September 3, and September 18 and 24.
Following the hearing, lead inspector Alan Boyland and assistant inspector Terry Philimore will prepare a recommendation for Ruth Kelly, Local Government Secretary, and Douglas Alexander, Transport Secretary, who will decide the outcome of the appeal.
Simon Osborn has been appointed programme officer for the inquiry.
