A FATHER was punched in the face in front of his wife and child after he confronted a yob riding a motorbike illegally in a park.
The 58-year-old victim was on a family walk along Alban Way near Ellenbrook Lane playground, Hatfield, on Saturday, March 17, at 4.15pm.
Angered that the motorcyclist was riding recklessly across a grassed area, the man decided to confront him. His attacker then got off his bike and punched him before riding off.
The victim, who is from St Albans, sustained a cut and swelling to his left cheek.
The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s with a round face and dark blonde spiky hair. He was wearing a blue and red helmet. There is no description of the bike other than it is adult-sized.
PC Nick Rega said: "This was a disgraceful assault on a man out with his family.
"If you recognise the description of this offender or believe you know of an adult male who is in the habit of riding an off-road motorbike in this vicinity, please ring 0845 33 00 222 and quote reference B2/07/1340. "
