SATELLITE navigation systems have a record of anarchy that includes dumping drivers into rivers and directing emergency vehicles on 300-mile detours.

So far their mischief has been confined to the roads.

Now, though, they have taken to the air, locating Stansted Airport, Essex, in the middle of the tiny, non-airport village of Stansted, Kent.

The programmers need to mug up on their geography. Meanwhile, anybody with a back garden lawn longer than 30 yards should hoist a sign reading: JUMBO JETS UNWELCOME.
