HISTORY was made in the RJF Homes Beckett Football League when for the first time three of its games ended goalless.

There was no drought at division one leaders Kirkbymoorside Reserves, who hammered Slingsby 5-1. Rob McDermid hit a hat-trick with other goals from Nicky Thurlow and Sid Brackley. Darren Dyer replied.

Just one goal was notched as second-placed Sinnington beat Union Rovers thanks to David Wilkinson's 20th-minute strike.

The blank share-all bet-ween Heslerton at Gillamoor was marked by the early departure of Heslerton 'keeper Andy White. The part-time fireman at Sherburn had to answer an urgent call, leaving player-boss Gareth Driver to maintain a clean sheet.

In division two, third-placed Old Malton 3rds routed derby rivals Norton United 11-0. On target were Jack Thrackray (3), Elliott Taylor (2), Luke Thompson (2), Mike Brown, Liam Foley, Scott Preston and skipper Ben Saltmer with a penalty to cap a man-of-the-match display.

Bagby & Balk beat St Clement's 3rds 4-0 with the haul shared by Graham Barker, David Joyce, Andrew Parkinson and Darren Bell.

Beckett League first division outfit Kirkdale United beat Snainton in the Scarborough and District FA Junior Cup semi-finals after extra time.

They took the lead through Martin Charlton's penalty but Snainton were quickly back on terms through David Bell's 25-yard free-kick.

Snainton took the lead in the second half with Simon Rouph's tap-in but Justin Palmer scored a dramatic equaliser as time ran out and, in extra time, Kirkdale secured their final berth through another Charlton penalty and a Tom Ellis lob in the final seconds. Kirkdale will meet Lealholm who beat Fishburn Park Reserves on penalties following a goalless 120 minutes.

Kirkbymoorside, leaders of the second division of the Teesside League, reached the final of the Macmillan Bowl with a 3-1 win at Guisborough Black Swan.

Daman Cox, Tony Barnett, from the spot, and Alex Strickland, two minutes from time, put the North Yorkshire outfit through.
