BOSSES at an ailing radio station have slammed a TV show which tried to get it back on track.
Frinton-based Big L radio, which was losing £50,000 a month, agreed to take part in Channel 4 series Get Your Act Together.
But the programme made the station and Frinton "look stupid", according to anchorman and former Radio 1 DJ Mike Read.
The show sees entertainment mogul Harvey Goldsmith try to work his magic on various flagging projects.
He described Big L as: "The worst radio station I have ever heard in my life."
Goldsmith and a series of experts savaged the station for being unprofessional and portrayed it as a clueless, amateurish "boys club" with no direction, strong management or real idea of how to progress.
But Mr Read said the programme had failed to come up with any ideas and condemned it for selective tabloid-style editing.
