IT was a weekend of woe for Pershore Town who crashed to two defeats and conceded nine goals in the process.

Neil Hunt's depleted outfit lost 3-1 at Bolehall Swifts on Saturday when Darren Bullock found the net on an afternoon when Town had enough chances to add to their Midland Combination Premier Division tally of points.

There were plenty of opportunities two days later but even more for a Castle Vale visiting side who travelled back up the M5 with a 6-1 victory under their belts.

Former Evesham striker Shane Benjamin helped himself to a hat-trick after Mark Goodman's first half strike had left the match in the melting pot with a 2-1 interval scoreline.

Manager Hunt blamed the number of games his players have played in the past week for his side's downturn in fortunes.

"Darren (Bullock) is 38 and he has played four times in five days," the Town boss revealed. "However, on the other side of the coin, young Dane Aldington came into the side on Monday and did exceptionally well."
