When Ofsted inspectors gave a peach of a report to a school in Worcester Park the only fault they could find was with the chocolate spread being given to some pupils.
Still smarting from the joyless appraisal of their breakfasts, Sparrow Farm out-of-school care club squeezed out its rivals to win a healthy eating competition.
Recently, 80 children enjoyed the fruits of their labours as they received a plum prize from Surrey Schools Out magazine - a demonstration on how to make fruit smoothies.
Jennifer Ede, manager of the club, said: "The children really enjoyed making them and learning about the vitamins in all the different fruits. We will now be introducing the smoothies into our clubs."
