AN elderly man had a lucky escape after his car crashed and landed on its roof.
The man, believed to be in his 80s, was driving a blue Toyota when he lost control and the car turned over in Highlands Boulevard, Leigh, yesterday, at about 2.30pm.
Luckily he was able to walk from the vehicle and was treated at the scene, close to Belfairs School, by paramedics.
A passerby said: "The car was absolutely smashed to pieces - it looked terrible.
"The road was blocked but the man was being treated in the ambulance."
It is thought the car hit two parked vehicles before coming to a standstill.
