A BLUEBELL and craft weekend is being held in Stoke Prior this Sunday and Monday at St Michael's Church.
A display of paintings by Michael Powell, a member of the Guild of Aviation Artists, and Gillian Johnson, a watercolour artist, will be on show. There will also be two books of paintings of the local area which were painted in 1870-1880 by Anne Aldham, wife of the then rector of Stoke Prior.
Anne painted many houses of note in Stoke Prior and these have now changed considerably or disappeared altogether. There are also views of the countryside.
These paintings have not been shown since 1980, and have been stored in controlled conditions by Avoncroft Museum and after the event will be taken back into storage. There will also be a chance to look at a magic lantern and slides that were used in the early 1900s.
