GREEN issues will head the agenda at the next meeting of the Windermere and Staveley District Neighbourhood Forum.
Kim Williamson, Cumbria County Council's Waste Prevention Officer, will explain why people in Cumbria should reduce, reuse and recycle their waste and the easy steps people can take to turn waste into a resource.
Alison Lax, Sustainable Development Adviser from the Lake District National Park Authority, will talk about policies and planning issues, including what's possible and what's not possible with renewable energy measures for your home.
The meeting will take place at Staveley Village Hall on Tuesday May 8. From 6.30pm residents have the chance to speak to officers from the LDNPA, county, district and parish councils, the police and the town centre manager to raise issues and concerns. The meeting proper will then start at 7pm.
Also on the agenda are updates on local issues raised at previous forums including Staveley Parish Plan and Windermere Library Lottery Bid together with feedback on the Droomer area residents' meeting and Staveley Village Association.
Paul Holdsworth, Town Centres' Manager, will introduce himself and provide updates on the Crescent Road/Ellerthwaite Road schemes and the Parish Lengthsman Scheme.
The forum will also offer the opportunity to swap local information and diary dates and listen to representatives from local groups applying for forum grants.
