UPTON II 35PTS, WOODRUSH II 38PTS UPTON's second team ended their season with a close fought defeat against Woodrush seconds.
Once again they were up against a stronger and more experienced pack, but fought hard to hold their own, and with a final score line of 35-38, could and possible should have won.
Try scorers included Dewi Williams, ably supporting his scrum half's break.
Mike Dodge scored two tries as well as Cook, playing at full-back. Dodge converted all five tries and had an out standing game at fly-half.
As well as scoring a try, Dewi Williams had another superb game at open side flanker, and tackled everything that came his way. Mark Tomlinson, the blind side flanker played his usual aggresive game in the tight and loose, and supplied a constant of possession from the line-out.
Adam State again playing at scrum-half, was always in the thick of things, driving his forwards on, and leading from the front.
Although another game lost, which could have been won, but if Upton can keep the nucleus of this second team for next season, they will start winning the close fought games.
