SWINDON Spitfires beat Highworth Juniors 5-1 in the semi-finals of the Wiltshire Women's & Girls League. Under 12 Cup In an action-packed clash, the Reds' took the lead through Laura McGlone after good build-up play from Chloe Craig and Niamh Rawlins.

The home side added a second goal just before the interval when more good build-up was neatly finished by Rawlins.

She scored the third after a lovely passing move from Kelly Nightingale and a pin-point pass by Craig before the home goalkeeper, Kayz De Bank, made a good save to her left to deny Highworth a goal.

Craig scored the fourth with McGlone rounding it off before Morgan Whittaker replied.

Under 14 Division THIRD-PLACED Highworth Juniors concluded their fixtures in the in the - but probably wished they hadn't as they were hammered 10-1 by Swindon Badgers.

Jessica Roffey led the goal scoring with five, Gemma Johnson adding a couple and Courtnay Baldwin, Becky Cotton and Shannon Fenton one each.

Despite the win Badgers cannot now win the league, but Blunsdon Colts still have a mathematical chance, although this was diminished after they lost 3-2 to Wootton Bassett A who move into third place as a result.

Emily Bogg's hat-trick and another for Lauren Park was not enough for Derry Hill who were edged 5-4 by leaders Trowbridge Town.

Bottom-of-the-table Wootton Bassett B were smashed 17-0 by second-placed Devizes, as Sophie Wright scored a hat-trick of hat-tricks.

Lauren Walker added four more, while Amy Longo and Vicky Skipio got a couple each.

Under 12 League A Division CRICKLADE Youth moved off the foot of the table after a 2-2 draw with Trowbridge Town Youth, while FC Chippenham Youth went into fourth place after a 4-0 victory over Swindon Town Nosbees, Gemma Ewles (2), Lucy Mitchell and Holly Provis netting.

Under 12 League B Division BOTH games ended 1-1, Spitfires' Blues being held by visitors Swindon Town Reds.

That means its between the Blues and Devizes for the runners-up spot, the latter being just a point behind but with a game in hand.

Spitfires Whites were held by Devizes Town Youth, but clinched the title with two games to spare.

Laura Sherrard gave them the lead before third-placed Devizes pulled a goal back.

Under 10 Division THE second semi-final of the Under 10 League Cup was a close encounter, with Wootton Bassett edging it 1-0 over Chippenham Town to set up a meeting with Trowbridge Town Youth in the final in May.

In the League, Trowbridge and Swindon Spitfires met, in what was effectively the title decider.

Trowbridge edged it 3-2 to maintain the only 100 per cent record in the league and cannot now be caught, despite Spitfires goals from Hannah Donovan and Molly Craig.

The under 10s meanwhile, were runners-up, with Chloe Cutt also being presented with the player of the tournament trophy.

Under 12 Reds did not concede a goal in their success, Niamh Rawlins scoring three hat-tricks - and the only goal in the final against Knowle West A. Chloe Craig , Amy Baker, Kelly Nightingale and Laura McGlone all scored two each.
