BROMYARD truck driver Nick Frost is taking on the arduous Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Breast Cancer Care.

He will attempt to conquer Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours with friend and colleague Adrian Radnor.

The pair were prompted to do the fundraising walk after another colleague's wife was diagnosed with cancer.

The challenge is a gruelling test of fitness, as the only rest they will get is on the minibus journey between the three mountains.

Mr Frost said: "We decided to do the challenge after seeing one of the guys at work go through the whole breast cancer scenario with his wife.

"Thankfully she is okay now, but we wanted to do something because seeing your mate coming to work in a terrible state is no fun for anyone."

As a former rugby player and now cricketer for Bromyard, Mr Frost's fitness level is not too bad. However, he has upped his gym sessions to four times a week in preparation for the walk.

Mr Radnor is keen cyclist, covering about 150 miles a week. The pair also trek the hills regularly.

So far, they have £955 of the £2,000 that they hope to raise.

Mr Frost said: "We would like to thank everybody who has sponsored so far, but more is welcome."

Bromyard businesses that have sponsored them including KTH, Legge Contracting, A&J Ralph, Jon Baker Building Contractor, The Plough Inn at Stoke Lacy, Crash Airfield Trucks, R2D2 Surveying, Stan Thomas and Son, Adroit Health and Beauty, and Andrew Jelly Optometrist.
