Government proposals to relax the rules on wind turbines have been welcomed by a man refused planning permission for a generator.
Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly yesterday unveiled plans to slash red tape to make it easier for people to install green technology - like solar panels and wind turbines - on their homes.
James Dodds, of Wivenhoe, said there needed to be "clear guidance" to help residents and councils understand what was allowed. He was refused planning permission from Colchester Council to put a wind turbine on his house in St John's Road earlier in the year.
Mr Dodds is appealing against the decision and has written to David Miliband, the Environment Secretary, to register his frustrations.
Colchester Council declined to comment.
