Budding Halesowen playwrights are being invited to take part in Write Live 2007.
SCRIPT, the West Midlands agency for dramatic writers, and Birmingham Repertory Theatre are looking for any playwright from across the region to submit a full-length play with an outline of a different idea plus fifteen pages of dialogue.
Both plays must be written for a theatre audience.
Entrants will then be considered for the Birmingham Repertory Theatre's Attachment Scheme for Playwrights, and there is also the possibility of the writer receiving development from SCRIPT through mentoring and showcasing.
Caroline Jester, Literary Manager at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, says of the theatre's attachment scheme: "The scheme enables writers to explore the possibilities of a new idea with appropriate creative support.
"This can mean working with choreographers, designers or composers as well as with other writers or the theatre's Literary Department on the development of their plays.
"It can also mean simply having the support of the theatre in researching a new idea for a play, which is then commissioned by us."
For details of the application procedure, interested writers should visit www.scripton line.net/stage or call SCRIPT on 0121 224 7415.
The deadline for submissions is 11 May 2007.
