ROBBIE DINWOODIE The First Minister's daughter, Hannah, has announced her engagement to a lawyer she met while working for the British Council in London.
Hannah McConnell, 28, is to marry Jack Harris, a barrister from Lincolnshire, who is also 28.
Mr McConnell told The Herald: "Bridget and I were delighted to be told about the engagement. They're a great couple and I've always enjoyed Jack's company.
"I'm pleased for my daughter and I couldn't really have hoped for a better future son-in-law.
"Adopting Hannah and my son Mark was the proudest moment of my life and Hannah's wedding will be a very special day for the family."
