Clacton Town coach David Coyle is backing his players to be more determined than ever for their biggest game of the season at Cambridge Regional College.

The showdown is a proverbial six-pointer with the Seasiders - currently fourth from bottom in the Ridgeons League premier division - hoping to put daylight between themselves and fellow strugglers CRC.

Town are gunning for victory after the bitter disappointment of their 4-2 defeat at Woodbridge on Tuesday.

They were two-up, only to be pegged back and then miss a penalty on a depressing night at Notcutts Park.

Now Clacton head to the Abbey Stadium - home of former Football League side Cambridge United - and Coyle told the Gazette: "The boys will be more determined than ever.

"I know how they'll be feeling because I've worked with them all season and they'll want to put things right. There's no doubt about that.

"Tuesday's game was a body-blow and I can honestly say I've never seen a more down-beat dressing room in my life after the game.

congratulate "The players sat there for about ten minutes and no-one said a word. It hit them really hard.

"I tried to congratulate them for the quality of their performance but it was obvious no words were going to make them feel any better."
