A YOUNG vandal left his mark on an East Lancashire village's bowling green by digging a 6ft long letter in the turf.
The 17-year-old boy carved out the letter P at Hapton Recreation Ground, Carter Avenue.
He was caught by a passer by who challenged him and called the police.
The youth was arrested and given an £80 fixed penalty notice by the police after the incident around 8pm on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said: "The youth was challenged by a member of the public which lead to the arrest."
