A TOWN boxing club says it has an exciting line-up for its show this month.

Spennymoor Boxing Academy will face an Irish Amateur Boxing Academy select squad at the town's leisure centre on Friday, April 20.

The Irish team are the latest international boxers to compete against Spennymoor, whose members have fought overseas and attracted some of the world's best amateur boxers to home events.

The home club has assembled a strong squad for the tournament, including champions Stuey Mccrone, Stuey Hall, Reece Ellis and Ben Jackson.

North-East boxing legend Billy Hardy, a former Commonwealth middleweight champion, will be the guest of honour. Pre-fight entertainment will be provided by Steve Fothergill and there will be a dinner.
