Without the hullabaloo thrust upon others, Natasha Bedingfield is one of few British acts to have scored a number one on the US Pop 100 singles chart, reaching the pinnacle with the Grammy-nominated Unwritten.
So why do our American cousins rate Ms Bedingfield so highly? Well, she delivers beautifully crafted, solid classic pop. But there is a touch English eccentricity about her work.
The likes of I Wanna Have Your Babies and Pirate Bones possess a whimsical charm and penetrating depth, and it comes as no surprise that Bedingfield studied psychology at Greenwich University.
In line with her public Christian beliefs, Natasha's songs are invariably positive and uplifting. Her next single, Soul Mate, is a great wee tune.
It's interesting to note Bedingfield's choice of collaborators (Pat Leonard, Steve Kipner and Maroon 5's Adam Levine).
Obviously, Daniel's younger sister is playing with the big boys and is in the game for the duration.
