Fylde remains true blue after the local elections despite the Conservative prospective Mayor losing his seat.
The Conservatives retained control for another four years, increasing their number of councillors by one to 27.
There are now 18 Independent members, a gain of four seats and the Liberal Democrats remain on two seats.
The Ratepayers Association were the big losers with their representation falling from eight members to four.
Conservative Colin Walton, who was due to take up office as Mayor of the borough was ousted from his seat in the Ashton ward, where Independent Barbara Pagett, Liberal Democrat Tony Ford and the Ratepayers Association's John Davies were all elected.
