LOCAL rider Natalie Widdowson has been showing the dressage world what she is made of after walking away from the British Event Insurance Winter Dressage Championships in fourth place, in the Petplan Equine Medium Restricted Area Festival Final.
Natalie and her ride, Ptarmigan, got a massive 64.48 per cent, less than three per cent behind the winner, in the class of 30 riders.
Natalie has been riding 14-year-old Ptarmigan, who is owned by Georgie Miller, for two years. "I am so pleased, " said an ecstatic Natalie, who is from Flixton, near Scarborough. The talented duo have more championships to attend and have just started to compete at Advanced level.
