AN AMMANFORD teenager who broke into the former British Legion and drank some of the stale beer told magistrates he had acted like a sheep.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was one of several youths who broke into the club on April 7 after it was re-possessed last month and drank beer left in the taps.

Prosecutor Beth Thomas told Llanelli Magistrates that the youth was the subject of a detention and training order for a prior offence, was one of five teenagers found at the premises.

"Officers arrived at the premises and saw that there was damage to the toilet window and the fire door was open," said Miss Thomas.

"They found the youths in the club and saw that the pool table had been turned and other damage had been caused.

"On arrest he told officers that he had gone to the club to find his girlfriend. He says that he was told that the club was open and that there was free beer."

Defence solicitor Andrew Isaac said his client, who had been remanded in police custody, had acted foolishly.

"He accepts that he had breached a supervision order and knows that he would be re-called for the previous offence," said Mr Isaac.

"He said he was like a sheep when he joined the other youths at the club."

Detaining the teen for four months the bench chair told him: "For the breach of the detention and training order you have been recalled into custody and will serve four months to run consecutively."
