Gordon has lived in Melksham for over 30 years. He is both a town and district councillor.
He was elected four years ago and is a former Deputy Leader at the District Council with responsibility for Licensing and now holds the Portfolio for Leisure and Recreation.
Gordon is a board member of west Wiltshire Housing Society. He has grave concerns over the lack of social and rented accommodation in the district. He has worked with Labour Party Colleagues at west Wiltshire District Council to get people out of bed and breakfast accommodation and into permanent housing.
Together with the rest of his fellow Labour councilors he feels that it is a basic right to have a decent home and is working with the housing societies in the district to increase the building programme for affordable homes for rent. He feels that housing societys should be doing more to provide this valuable resource.
