YORK ACORN ARL Club's Under-10s played host to Whinmoor Warriors and went down 42-36 to a last-gasp try.

It was a good effort by the young Blue and Golds considering they had seven under age players in their squad.

Reece Arthur put in a powerful forward display to notch up four tries.

Charlie Murphy also crossed as did Henry Andrews, who picked up the coaches' award. Jimmy Hardwick was awarded man of the match.

New Earswick All Blacks ARL Club's U11s showed excellent team spirit in a 16-12 defeat at Drighlington.

They showed excellent discipline and were rewarded with tries by Cameron Mulhearn, Declan Tosh' Calam, who also converted along with Nathan Wilkinson.

Excellent defensive work from Lewis Deighton, Calam and Ben Harrison stood out while scrum-half Tom Kilvington earned the man of the match award.

All Blacks U10s fought back from 12-0 down to clinch a 30-24 win at Crigglestone All Blacks.

Max Colley, Harry Moorcroft, Charlie Hill, Adam Shield and a hat-trick from James Harris capped a fighting display.

Josh Rogerson scored five tries as Heworth U8s A' battled bravely against a much bigger Thornhill Trojans. Sam Young also got on the scoresheet twice in a draw.
