I was so pleased to read your article about the banning of German/Nazi uniforms at the ELR Wartime Weekend this year.
Although I am not quite old enough to remember the war, I am old enough to read about the war crimes which the Germans inflicted on the innocent people of that time.
Also I knew people who had lost husbands, brothers, fathers and other family members fighting in the Second World War. They were fighting for freedom of this country and to keep the Germans away from this small Island.
I felt that the Wartime Weekend was forgetting the very high price these families paid for the safety of this country, from this evil situation.
To see the strutting' of the British people walking around the railway station in such a fashion, was degrading, offensive and insulting to those we should remember with dignity and honour.
Great Britain' should be remembered for the men and women who died for us to live our lives in this modern world.
Surely, most British people should stand dignified and with pride for the country that has been so victorious over the years.
I know I am very proud to be a British citizen and to stand proud for those who fought so bravely for me to enjoy the Great Britain' we have today!
