STOURBRIDGE'S only indoor skatepark Ramparts is selling off all its ramps, skateboards and accessories this weekend after deciding its the end of the line for inliners and BMX bikers.

Owner Lois Bramall has decided to call it a day - after Dudley Council refused to renew the lease on the skater's paradise in the basement of the Bell Street multi-storey carpark.

An auction of skateboards and ramps, some of which were crafted by top UK ramp builder and former European champion Andy Peerless from Fearless Ramps, will take place at Ramparts on Saturday April 28 from midday.

Youngsters were this week enjoying their last skate at Ramparts which has been open since 2004.

The only purpose-built facility for skaters and BMXers left in the Stourbridge area is now the Dudley Council-funded outdoor park off Junction Road at Redhill.

Free to use, the facility includes an area of tarmaced surface with a quarter pipe, central jump, grind rails and grind jumps.
