Heckmondwike Grammer School Parents' Association is inviting local runners to join a 10km run on Wednesday, May 23.

The race will be on the tarmac surface of the Spen Valley Greenway, a disused railway line that is part of the National Cycle Network.

It will start at Primrose Lane, next to the Princess Mary Athletics track, and competitors will run the 10km to Low Moor and back.

All those taking part will be able to use the facilities at the Princess Mary Athletics Track, including parking, changing, showers, and refreshments.

Results will be available on the night. The entry fee will be £6 for affiliated club members and £8 for unattached runners. An additional £1 will be charged for entries on the night. Competitors must be aged 15 or older on the day of the race.

A memento will be given to everyone completing the race and prizes will be awarded to the first three ladies, first three men, first boy and first girl home.

Entry forms can be obtained from the school reception or downloaded from www.ukresults.net.

All proceeds will go towards extra equipment and facilities at the school.
