TWO KINGSWINFORD sisters have teamed up to hike up the Himalayas to raise cash for charity.

Nikki Harvey, aged 22 and her sister Sarah, 24 from Kilburn Drive are planning to walk the planet's highest mountain range with Nikki's boyfriend Ashley Grey-Smart.

The three youngsters will be in India for ten days during October where they will travel to Shimla, Jakhu Temple, Kandaghat and Mount Karol.

Nikki, a graduate in sociology and international relations from the University of Plymouth, said: "We have always been interested in travelling and my sister has already done a lot of travelling.

"We looked at doing something and I found the global challenge for Oxfam to do fund raising, this is an opportunity to go."

Nikki's boyfriend Ashley is currently serving in Afghanistan with the RAF as part of the tactical communications wing at Brize Norton but will join the girls for their tremendous trek.

After five days of walking the group get to the chance to visit the Taj Mahal and the Oxfam Project in Agra, which they are raising money for, before flying back on October 22.

Nikki added: "We are hoping to raise £9000 between all three of us.

"We are looking for sponsors in the local business community ."

Anyone wishing to make a donation to the hike can contact the group by emailing nicholaharvey@hotmail.com.
