A PICTURE with plaque has been handed to Bridgwater Sea Cadets in memory of two of its members.
Andrew Dyer and his ten-year-old daughter Gabriella were tragically killed in a French car crash last year and had both been members of the group.
The picture, together with a donation of £400, was handed over by the Dyer family to the cadets at an awards evening held to recognise promising youngsters.
Mr Dyer's sister Amanda Bliault told the Mercury how and why the gifts were given to the group.
"Gaby went there and my two daughters go there and we thought it was a good cause," she told the Mercury.
"We actually have a family party every year and it's to raise money for a charity.
"This year we decided to give it to the cadets, they said they were going to use it on the kids for activities and equipment."
Mr Dyer's father Noel explained what would now happen to the dedicated image depicting the Siege of Mafeking.
"The picture was given to me by my cousin and we gave it in memory of Andrew and Gaby who were cadets," he said.
"There is a plaque on there and it will be hung in the sea cadets' headquarters."
