A man in his late 60s was airlifted to hospital after collapsing in Thornton on Monday afternoon.
The man, who has not been named, was walking near an estuary of the River Wyre in Thornton when he collapsed on mud flats.
The North West Air Ambulance (NWAA) was called as he was a long way from the footpath, making access to him difficult.
The man was conscious when NWAA paramedics arrived at the scene but needed to be stabilised before being flown to Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
