A 29-YEAR-OLD woman stabbed her ex-partner because she said he was "doing her head in," a court was told.

Hyndburn magistrates heard that Kelly Tootle was in bed with her new boyfriend when she was disturbed by noise from downstairs.

She went down and argued with ex-partner Clifford Healey and then picked up a knife and stabbed him in the thigh.

Tootle, 29, of Lydia Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to wounding Mr Healey causing grievous bodily harm.

She was committed on bail to Burnley Crown Court for sentence.Charlotte Crane, prosecuting, said Tootle and Mr Healey had been involved in a 10-year relationship.

They had parted but on the day of the incident he had been at her house drinking with other people.

Tootle and her new partner went to bed but there was noise from downstairs and she went back down and the stabbing took place. She later told police: "I stabbed him because he was doing my head in." Mr Healey was taken to hospital where his leg wound was stitched.
