A MUSEUM has been chosen to display a unique exhibition of work from artists from the People's Republic of China.
The contemporary Chinese ink paintings have gone on show at Durham University's Oriental Museum and will remain on display until June 30.
Organised in collaboration with the Cultural Department of Jiangsu Province, Modern Chinese Ink Painting celebrates the finest examples of the genre.
The exhibition, which has come to Durham direct from a showing in Venice, showcases ink paintings created by leading modern artists from the Chinese Province.
Jiangsu has been recognised worldwide as a "gathering place of talents'' since ancient times and the new works illustrate Chinese art today.
Craig Barclay, curator of Durham University Museums, said: "We are very fortunate to have the chance to showcase this unique exhibition in Durham."
