In response to L May's letter telling us of their long day at William Pair greengrocers, Bitterne March 22), I have to point out that the former owner of the shop is employed by them and goes to market for them and 5.30am is probably the earliest he starts. He arrives back at the shop at about 7am and he and the owner start to put the produce out at 7.30am. Not quite such a long day? Many other business people work much longer hours to help the public seven days a week.
