PATIENTS can now have their say on the care they receive in hospital thanks to a new website created by Malvern Link resident David Baker.

Mr Baker launched www.hospitals uncovered.co.uk - where patients can post positive or negative comments about their experiences - after becoming fed-up with only hearing facts, figures and objectives for hospitals from the government itself.

Mr Baker, aged 46, has spent a year working on the site, which allows patients to review more than 1,000 hospitals across the country.

"I had the idea because my mother and father went through some horrific experiences in hospital five or six years ago," he said. "If you want to buy a product or research the best gas supplier you can look online for customer reviews, yet there was nothing like that for health care."

The website went live this week. Mr Baker hopes people will log on and start to create a substantial bank of information.

Visitors to the site are asked to select a hospital and answer questions on their experiences. From these answers each hospital is given a rating that other patients can view.
