The annual general meeting of Stanford-le-Hope and Corringham Townswomen's Guild was chaired by Jenny White who will remain in post for another year.

Pat Arnold is continuing as treasurer.

Pat Spencer remains as secretary and has volunteered to take the chair when necessary. Janet Course, Sheila Drake, Pam Lawrence, and Chris Wilson remain on committee.

Maud Robinson has retired and was thanked for her several years of service. Carol Tinworth has rejoined the committee, after a year's break, and will take over management of the raffle.

Pat Spencer reported on the various activities and speakers members have enjoyed during the last year. She thanked Sheila Drake for preparing the speaker's programme for the coming year. Jennie White thanked Pat for her very good report and secretarial support, the committee and the treasurer "without whom the guild would not function."

The extra support given by Trudi English, Carol Tinworth and Phyllis Gurnett was gratefully acknowledged.

The Janet Dolezal trophy was won by Joyce Bryce who achieved the highest number of accumulated competition points. The evening ended with a challenging general knowledge quiz, provided by Pat Spencer and won by Jenny White.

The ramblers will be meeting at Norsey Woods, 10 am on April 4. Peter Abbey will be speaking about press photography at the next meeting, on April 11 at 7.30 pm in Corringham Village Hall.
