COTSWOLD District Cricket Association (CDCA) has announced that its 2006 sponsors will continue their support for the 2007 season.

CDCA's spokesman said this support is appreciated by the committee and member clubs.

SweetFuels will sponsor the Saturday League, D&J Sports the Evening League, Moore Allen and Innocent the Evening Knockout Cup and John and Penny Light the Juniors.

In 2007, 33 teams will compete in the SweetFuels Saturday League, which will be organised into three divisions and will begin on Saturday, May 5.

Last year's Division One champions, Northleach firsts, decided not to take promotion to the County League and instead have moved to Oxfordshire Cricket Association League.

CDCA wished them success in their new league. Northleach have retained their CDCA membership and their second team will continue playing in Division Three.

Lechlade's second team have had to withdraw from Division Two to play in the Wiltshire league, following the promotion of their first team in that league.

However, CDCA welcomes four new clubs to Division Three this season - Barnsley Beeches CC will return after several years of consolidation and Coates CC have transferred from the Wiltshire League, while Aldsworth CC and Stow-on-the-Wold CC both make their league debuts.

The D&J Sports Evening League will increase to eight teams. Last year's winners, Stowell Park, are expected to have another good season and Aldsworth have entered for the first time.

The Moore Allen Innocent Evening Knockout Cup has also increased this year.

There will be 14 teams, including last year's winners Fairford and runners-up Northleach.

The final will be played on Tuesday, July 17 and Stowell Park have kindly agreed to host the match again.

There are even more Junior teams this season, with matches at under-nine, under-11, under-13 and under-15 levels.

The CDCA district representative teams did well last year and hope this year will be even better.

CDCA president John Light, together with his wife Penny, have generously sponsored the Junior cricket again.

CDCA thanked him for the support he gives to clubs in the area and congratulated him on his election as chairman of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club.

The main competition fixtures, results and match reports will appear throughout the season on CDCA's website www.cdca.play-cricket.com For any other queries call CDCA Secretary John King on 01285 720278.
