Fifty people in Epsom are to become part of a community art project that will be seen throughout the country.

The Mall Ashley - formerly known as the Ashley Centre in Epsom - is taking part in a 1,000 faces' scheme, the brainchild of top photographer Hal Satterthwaite who recently staged an exhibition of 1,000 portraits of people living in the Walthamstow area.

The latest project will feature people at shopping centres throughout the UK and Epsom's mall is responsible for contributing 50 faces towards the 1,000 needed.

The mall has selected 25 people and the other 25 from Epsom will be made up of people who nominate themselves or who will be chosen by the photographer on the day.

He will be photographing local faces for the exhibition on Saturday May 26 between noon and 3pm at the Mall Ashley.

Anyone who would like to nominate themselves or someone else should write to Laura Brown at The Mall Ashley by May 23 saying why they want to be photographed and what their community means to them. Participants under the age of 18 will need consent from their parent/guardian.
