ELWORTH suffered disappointment in their season opener at London Road.
Despite captain Murray Ranger's best efforts with the ball, newly-promoted Caverswall got home by three wickets, last Saturday.
In truth a total of 140 never looked enough as their top order was blown away after being put into bat.
Only Kevin Underwood (17) made over 1 with Elworth reeling on 27-4.
Rob Beech and Lee Morris (46) rallied and their partnership was just starting to flourish when Beech was caught lbw for 28.
Former Haslington star, Morris was heading for his half-century when Caverswall grabbed another timely breakthrough to leave the hosts 103-6.
Alex Edmonstone (18no) and Tarek Alam (12) helped them progress but pro Arsalan Mir returned to clean up the tail with figures of 7-18.
When Mir (26) joined Karl Cassidy (41) at the crease, it looked a formality but 94-1 quickly became 107-5 to give Elworth hope.
Ranger (4-52) and Jim Higgins (3-37) did their best but Glen Moore (17no) steered them to 142-7.
Elworth claimed six points and look to bounce back at opening day winners Little Stoke on Saturday.
They entertain Rode Park and Lawton in the Talbot Cup on Sunday.
