RESIDENTS could build their own hotel on their own street in Hillingdon - if the borough gets to be on the Monopoly board.

Makers of the Here & Now UK Edition' of Monopoly are taking online votes to find the most popular places in the UK, which will be immortalised on the famous board.

And Hillingdon Council is encouraging residents to vote to secure a place for the borough.

Voters can visit www.monopoly.co.uk to select their chosen location. Hillingdon is currently a wildcard', so voters will need to follow the links to the wildcard page and fill in the form with their name and Hillingdon' as a wildcard location (in the county of Middlesex).

Acting chief executive Hugh Dunnachie said: "Having the chance to see Hillingdon on the latest version of Monopoly is a really exciting way for Hillingdon people to share their passion for the area. I hope residents will take the time to vote online."

Voting will end on May 25 and the new UK board will be revealed in October.

Visitors to the website can vote once a day so people are encouraged to visit the site frequently to check Hillingdon's progress.
