SIR. We have received a letter from Tesco, dated February 21, addressed to the occupier.
On April 7 we received a further letter, undated and addressed to us personally, to which we have the following comments to make.
Our only interest in the plans for this development is that they should preclude a Tesco store on the MoD site in Tolworth. As this is the main purpose of the proposed development, they are asking for input from total objectors to your scheme.
As they are fully aware, there were over 2,000 objectors who signed a petition against the scheme. If, as they say, they wish to represent the views of different sections of the community, they should accept that no amount of meetings, public or otherwise, will change the views of the residents of Tolworth.
They should fold up their tents and depart.
