With the appointment of a new head of contact centre Mark Tilling, Team Newport at Lloyds TSB is going from strength to strength.

Mark lives locally and has a track record of leading successful teams after running several contact centres within Lloyds TSB.

Growth in the centre has been steady and certain. In just three months, Team Newport has increased from 350 people to 408 and is still recruiting. It's great news for the local community, with the company offering competitive salaries and a wide range of benefits. It's also especially good news for parents and students who are interested in parttime working or evening shifts.

The continued growth of the centre is matched by ongoing developments to improve customer service. Scripting was dropped for advisers to give better and faster service, and customer take up of the bank's automated system installed last year, has been much higher than expected with customers saying this is a fast and efficient way to bank.

Team Newport are proud of their place in the local community and their charity work is going from strength to strength too. Their official charity is Barnado's and over the Easter weekend they held a raffle and Easter egg hunt, and over the summer they will get more involved with the local Barnardo's children's home. They're helping local schools too, and providing work experience for students interested in a career in the financial sector.

What's more, life at work has become more rewarding. Lloyds TSB have created a fun environment where people can enjoy themselves and feel valued for the work that they do. Small things such as the availability of fresh fruit platters and onsite massage have proved a huge hit with staff, we doubt they'll struggle to find more team members with such a positive work ethic!
