ARTISTIC students painted a portrait of their achievement made through their schools.

Pupils from the local area demonstrated how their school has helped them achieve things by entering imaginative posters to a nationwide campaign.

The Department for Education and Skills London's Schools Celebrating Achievement campaign will advertise students' posters on outdoor panels across the country donated by Clear Channel Outdoor UK.

A poster designed by Ashil Pindolia and Nayur Arjan, of Claremont High School, has been selected showing the cricket skills they learnt at school.

Kate Guy, head of art at Claremont High School, said: "It is very exciting for the students and the school to be involved in this project. It is a great opportunity to work with a top design agency and to share our achievements with the whole of London.

"Through the use of Clear Channel Outdoor's pioneering campaign planning tools, the winning ads will appear on bus shelters in close proximity to the students' schools, maximizing their impact among the students, parents and local communities."

Andrew Adonia, Minister for London's Schools, said: "This is a really exciting project and I am looking forward to viewing the final ads.

"I am always struck by the richness of talent that exists in London schools and this is an innovative way of showcasing students' achievements. The last five years have seen substantial increases in standards in many London schools.

"I am confident we can build further on the progress already made to ensure that all our children reach their potential."

The winning pieces are due to go on display in May.
