POLICE are hunting a conman who tricked his way into a house in Melksham this morning.
The offender struck at about 10.30am when told the occupant of the home in Beanacre Road that he was carrying out building work and needed to check water supplies for possible contamination.
He followed the occupants through to the kitchen where he played around with the taps, despite being asked to leave on several occasions.
When he finally left the occupants discovered that items had been stolen.
The conman is described as white, in his early 20s, about 5ft 7in tall of medium build with short dark brown hair. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt and spoke with a strong accent.
