PUPILS at a Gwent school traded their electronic games for spinning tops yesterday when they turned back time to sample a taste of Victorian life.
As part of their studies, youngsters from Llantilio Pertholey School in Abergavenny held a Victorian Day.
Each of the pupils dressed up in traditional costume and were given a Victorian name.
The children used an abacus, played traditional playground games with hoops, balls and skipping ropes and they took morning prayers.
There was no talking aloud in class and the children used blackboards and chalk to do their work.
