Top Tenor Russell Watson has cancelled his show in Wiltshire for health reasons.

The singer was due to perform at the Oasis in Swindon, a date rescheduled from March 28.

But he has been told by doctors to cancel the rest of his tour after a slight throat infection.

Russell's spokesman said: "He arrived in Glasgow this morning for the show and attended sound check and rehearsal as normal.

"During this time his voice broke down due to him still not being fully recovered from his throat infection. A throat specialist was called in immediately and after a full consultation he advised Russell that he should not sing again for at least ten days and give his voice enough time to recover."

Shows in Glasgow and Sheffield have also been cancelled.

The spokesman said: "Russell is devastated at the news but realises that to sing over the weekend could result in irreparable damage being done to his voice.

"We hope everyone understands this situation as it is not only his fans who will be sad at this news but also Russell himself who undoubtedly feels happiest when on stage.

"Once again, thank you all for your loyal support and patience at this time."

Ticket holders have been told to contact the organisation which sold the ticket to get a refund.
