AH Conor.
If it weren't for the magic of Conor Oberst (AKA Bright Eyes), my life might be short of that melancholic troubadour that always seems to be able to break your heart with four chords.
It used to be Ryan Adams, but he's lost it spectacularly of late.
Happily, Conor is here to pick up where he left off.
Anyone who has got Bright Eyes' last release I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning will want to leap onto this latest LP like a lifeboat.
It's full of the same alt.country musings about the world at large and his vocals still sound like he's a stubbed toe away from crying his heart out.
It's grand stuff.
It's got the feel of something on the verge of Very Big Things.
I'd like to hope he could stay there for a little while longer, in case, like Mr Adams, success has a detrimental effect on his exceptional music.
But having said that, it's too good not to share.
So make sure you buy this album today!
