SIR - The article by MEP Mr Bushill-Matthews (Worcester News, March 22) about the EU and its benefits beggars belief Everything he states as EU benefits could easily have been achieved by us, ruling ourselves - and outside EU domination. It just needs somebody with drive and common sense in Whitehall!
His comment about opening border controls only means criminals are now free to come and go as they please - which they do! Not a good move, sir.
Does he really think developing pen pals in Europe, slightly improving our sewage facilities and better recycling of rubbish was worth giving away our sovereignty to a foreign ruler and saddling us with a daily cash burden to the EU that makes grown bankers cry?
The truly frightening bit is at the end, where he says, "There remains much work to be done"!
I fear for the future.
Great Britain? It's not Great - and it certainly isn't the Britain I remember any more, either.
